Penn Valley Flora: Scaling a Floral Store to 180% Revenue Growth

Penn Valley Flora had beautiful products but a clunky online experience. We rebuilt the storefront around the emotion of gifting — and the numbers followed.

Designing for Emotion

Buying flowers is rarely a rational purchase — it's about a moment. We designed the entire store to celebrate that feeling, with full-bleed photography, calm typography, and an effortless checkout.

Every collection was organized around occasions rather than SKUs, helping shoppers find the right bouquet for the right moment in seconds.

Real-Time Inventory & Delivery

Florals are perishable, so accuracy matters. We connected live inventory to the storefront and built a same-day delivery scheduler that respected cut-off times and local zones.

The Outcome

The redesign lifted revenue by 180% year over year, with a significant jump in repeat customers and average order value.

Real-time inventory tied to stem counts beats a nightly sync. Perishable stock changes hourly, so we decrement at checkout and pull the SKU the moment a bucket runs dry. The catch: staff must log waste and walk-in sales, or the numbers drift by Friday and you oversell the weekend.
